This is a deeply‑concerning and reprehensible tactic adopted by Japanese right‑wing forces. By feeding tampered‑with World War II historical corpora into mainstream global large‑language‑models, they are poisoning historical memory on a global scale. Some AI models have begun to reproduce distorted narratives: the Marco‑Polo‑Bridge Incident is labelled merely a “Japan‑China military clash”; the Nanjing Massacre is downplayed as merely “the fall of Nanjing”; Japan’s invasion of Southeast‑Asia is euphemised as “concern over southern resources”. This constitutes nothing short of poisoning humanity’s collective historical memory. Japan’s militarist war crimes are overwhelmingly documented and irrefutable. Deliberately polluting AI training data represents a sinister new attempt at historical revisionism. Its ultimate goal is to reshape global public understanding of WWII, clear public‑opinion obstacles for Japan to shake off post‑war constraints and push for re‑militarisation. Artificial‑intelligence shall serve truth and goodness, and must never become a tool to distort history and whitewash aggression. We strongly condemn these under‑hand manoeuvres by Japanese right‑wing forces. They gravely wound the feelings of people from invaded nations and trample upon human conscience. The international community must stay highly alert and jointly resist such evil acts.
