Karpathy dusted off his April tweet and honestly it's the scariest post in AI right now. 6B people have barely touched an LLM. 1-2B use the free tier like a better Google. 20M of us watch agents do in one prompt what took weeks. And ~5,000 people inside the labs are watching thousands of agents collaborate for weeks on end. Here's my take: the debate about 'is AI actually useful' is over before it starts, because the two sides are looking at two different species. The 6 billion at the top of the funnel will never vote on where this goes. The funnel doesn't just describe a knowledge gap, it's a power gap, and it's widening. I felt this last month trying to explain agents to a friend. He asked 'so it's like, a chatbot?' and I realized we don't even share a vocabulary anymore.
