$FORM $TER $AEHR $LITE $COHR This is a map of how a CPO laser is made and screened!💪 It starts from an indium phosphide substrate and follows one laser all the way into a CPO switch. A few checks happen on the wafer. The rest have to wait until the wafer is cleaved, because that's when the laser's two mirrors first exist, and from there every laser is tested on its own. For each screen I lay out what it catches, why a 300 to 400 mW CPO laser has a harder time passing it than a 100 mW pluggable laser, and whose equipment does the work. Then I follow the money in three layers: the laser makers themselves, the test platforms $FORM and $TER, and the burn-in makers, including $AEHR for lasers built onto silicon photonics wafers.
