Happy Thanksgiving, Canada! How much more is dinner this year? A traditional turkey dinner for a family of four is estimated at $35.72 this year, up 10% from $32.48 in 2025, according to Dalhousie University's Agri-Food Analytics Lab. The biggest driver is the turkey itself. A 7 lb bird at $1.79/lb comes to $12.53, up from $10.43 last year, roughly 20% more. Potatoes and carrots are also adding to the bill. Other options for four: Ham: $36.37, up 4.3% Lamb: $80.47, up 3.5% Lobster: $88.14 One interesting link: the lab's director says high beef prices are "disrupting the meat counter," pushing up turkey and ham prices too. We wrote about why beef is so expensive a few weeks ago Wishing everyone a warm Thanksgiving, whatever's on the table Source: Dalhousie University Agri-Food Analytics Lab, Thanksgiving Report 2026 (via Global News, CP24) #Thanksgiving #food #agriculture
