I’m closely tracking both of these as well. They’re consistent with what I’m hearing from industry contacts. First, there have been reports of an oversupply of Chinese CW lasers. Even if they don’t enter the US market directly, they will put downward pressure on global prices. Second, low power light sources such as VCSEL arrays could bypass the economic moat surrounding high power InP lasers. Lumentum itself is making them too.
