Russia just drew the line crypto was built to erase. The Bank of Russia has clarified that moving coins from a regulated digital account to your own self-custody wallet is NOT permitted under Federal Law No. 282-FZ. Direct person-to-person trades still work — but only until July 1, 2027, after which everything must run through authorized intermediaries. Read that carefully: owning a wallet is not banned. Moving your coins OUT of the regulated system is. Your keys still exist — the off-ramp just got fenced off. This is the oldest fight in crypto wearing new clothes: custody vs. control, convenience vs. sovereignty. One side says regulated rails protect ordinary people. The other says if you can't withdraw to your own keys, you don't really own anything. If your country handed you the same deal — regulated custody with no self-custody exit — would you take it, or walk away from the regulated market entirely? I track crypto flashpoints like this every day so you see the shift before it hits your wallet. — via @cryptorover #Bitcoin #Crypto #Russia #SelfCustody #NotYourKeys
