Perfection doesn't win people over. Small cracks do. In 1966, psychologist Elliot Aronson ran a simple experiment. People listened to recordings of two quiz-show contestants. One was brilliant. One was average. Then one of them spilled coffee on himself. The brilliant contestant who spilled it became MORE likeable. The average one who spilled it became LESS likeable. Read that again. The flaw only worked on the person who was already good. Competence earns respect. A small, human crack earns trust. Blunder first and it just reads as incompetence. Blunder after you've proven you're good and it reads as real. So if you're capable but somehow hard to reach, engineer one honest crack on purpose: • Admit the thing you're bad at • Say "I don't know" when you don't • Laugh at your own miss instead of covering it You don't need to be flawless. You need to be reachable. Follow @InGodWeBelieveU for the psychology behind why people actually trust you. #psychology #humanbehavior #confidence #charisma #trust
