Tesla says the new Roadster has fans under the car that suck it onto the road, up to 2 g's. On paper, that's enough to hold it upside down. F1 tried this once. The Brabham BT46B fan car raced one Grand Prix in 1978, won it, and was withdrawn. A banned race car idea is now a spec sheet line on a road car.
