The bank behind Elon Musk's X Money is actually connected to XRP. His name: Cross River Bank Let's start with X. Musk is enabling people to store and send funds on X, a news and information platform. However, adding a transfer button to a social media app doesn't make it a bank. This requires actual accounts and cards, as well as the financial infrastructure for moving funds. Cross River Bank takes over this part. In its official announcement on July 27th, the bank announced it would provide banking infrastructure for X Money, supporting accounts, Visa debit cards, and payment functions within X. Then on October 15th, the bank announced a partnership with Ripple. Ripple's USD stablecoin RLUSD will be integrated into its core system and will support trading on the XRP Ledger. The seemingly disparate names are now connected: X → X Money → Cross River RLUSD/XRPL → Cross River Two paths meet at the same bank. This raises an interesting question: If X is supported... The bank providing the payment is equipped with a blockchain payment network. What kind of experience will customers using this bank have in the future? This integration provides a pathway for fintech companies to connect to USD and RLUSD through a single API, enabling 24/7 value flow. Companies don't need to build their own blockchain infrastructure from scratch, saving them costs. What people see as X is actually a bank. And within the banks, the digital dollar and blockchain payment network are emerging. The transformation of finance may begin with the evolution of the way value flows behind the apps we see.
