Anthropic just published the most uncomfortable chart in AI this year. Their own economists: junior technical hires down from 27% to 9%. Junior staff from 21% to 14%. Their agents now log six hours for every one their human handlers work. My first years were mostly reading other people's code and breaking things at 2am. Inefficient, humbling, and the whole apprenticeship. That is where my judgment came from, not from a course. The line that stuck with me is near the end of the report. They admit their mitigations will not benefit the people who were never hired to begin with. Agents ate the bottom rung. The ladder still needs climbing.
