Korean media report that Chinese semiconductor equipment maker AMEC is conducting equipment trials with South Korean power semiconductor companies. AMEC is reportedly testing its metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) equipment with SK keyfoundry, an SK hynix subsidiary, and Magnachip. AMEC has been unable to supply equipment to the South Korean fabs of domestic chipmakers such as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.
