Day six opens the Strait, day seven starts the talks — Iran is now selling a timetable for the world's most important waterway, while Trump, in the same 24 hours, promised the war would end "very quickly" and claimed Iran's nuclear capacity was already knocked out. Crude shipments through Hormuz are already back to 80% of pre-war levels, but Qatar's LNG exports have collapsed to less than a quarter of normal and Asian gas prices have nearly tripled: oil recovered, gas did not. For China, still taking some of the last Qatar cargoes — aboard tankers crossing the Strait with their navigation beacons switched off — the lesson is blunt: Hormuz is no longer a barrier, it is Tehran's bargaining chip, and Asia's gas shock is only deepening.
