What’s happening in France? 🇫🇷 - 550,000–800,000 people took to the streets on Oct 17. - By Oct 18, around 1,800 arrests had been reported. - 500+ police officers and emergency responders were injured. - At least 1 protester reportedly died. - Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux and other cities saw clashes, looting, arson and vandalism. - What began over school conditions and teacher shortages grew into wider anger over the cost of living, inequality and cuts to public services.
