I completely agree. It’s been quite a while since I earned my PhD in semiconductor design, but if I were making that decision today, I don’t think I would seriously consider pursuing one. I’m exaggerating a little, but the time I spent on my PhD now feel like a huge waste of time. With AI, I can learn so much more, much faster and more easily, through my work in the industry. I don’t think it will be long before the traditional structures our society has built begin to crumble.
