BREAKING: A growing number of House Republicans are warning President Donald Trump that they are prepared to block additional Pentagon funding unless his administration takes a tougher stance on Russia. The Trump administration is pressuring congressional Republicans to approve at least $350 billion in new military spending as part of a reconciliation package during the congressional “lame-duck” session—the period between Election Day and the swearing-in of newly elected members of Congress. Despite Donald Trump’s push for the funding, several Republicans are furious over the president’s latest foreign policy moves, including an agreement with Vladimir Putin to allow Russian diesel imports into the United States in an effort to curb rising fuel prices. These warnings could be very real, not only because Trump’s decisions have sparked considerable anger, but also because many Republicans will not be returning to Congress next year, either because they are retiring or have lost their reelection bids. As a result, they may feel freer to vote against Donald Trump without fear of political repercussions. Many Republicans are calling on Donald Trump to put pressure on Vladimir Putin and stand with Ukraine. Source: The Hill https://thehill.com/homenews/house/6155127-gop-pentagon-funding-trump-russia/
