China's first AI-produced theatrical feature opens 10/23 Friday: Sanxingdui: Future Past. The numbers behind it: 1.2M+ source images, 100+ full-film iterations, ~2 years — and a 100+ person human team still making the creative calls. Its plot? Humanity hands its decisions to a super AI, and a crisis follows. Even the first AI feature is, at heart, a story about not handing over judgment. As someone who makes AI videos myself: the tool scaled. The judgment didn't automate. Would you watch a feature made this way? Picture source: TechNode
