My TV's home screen is now mostly ads. I paid for the hardware. A free open-source tool just fixed it for thousands of people — CleanYourTV gained 4,000+ GitHub stars in a single day. No cables, no root. It connects to your Android TV over Wi-Fi with ADB, backs everything up first, then strips out the sponsored rows, the telemetry, and the preinstalled junk you can't normally uninstall. Then it installs a tiny launcher: a clean home screen with a dock of four apps. Nothing is actually uninstalled, so it survives system updates. And if you hate it, one restore script puts everything back exactly as it was. Already tested on Xiaomi, TCL, and Sony. Your TV goes back to being a TV. What's the worst case you've seen of ads invading something you already paid for?
