The spread absorbed the divergence: 𝟭𝟮.𝟭𝟴, plus 1.21 on the day, the widest of the move. • The strip still pays 𝟭𝟲.𝟯𝟲 for a barrel now over one next December — promptness carries the bid. • Inventories (week to 10-16): crude drew 3.4 mb to 695 — 𝟭𝟱.𝟴 𝗺𝗯 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀. Distillate built 1.7 mb, its first in five, and the heating crack paid for it: 95.92, minus 7 on the session. • Gasoline, inside this report: demand 8,982 kb/d plus 574 on the week, stocks down 3.0 mb, crack holding 30.71 — while the pump fell to 4.284. The driver's price is arguing with the driver's demand. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 110.05 is the number of the rally so far: a new 90-day high on a flat dollar (index 101.69, dead on the day, lower on the week — every cent of this move is oil's own doing), the twentieth-session gain running 12.2%, realized volatility at 30.9% annualized. The picture is fully extended — RSI 73, price 6.7 dollars above its own 20-day average — and extended is what strong markets are until they aren't.
