The monster that made my traps useless! The monster that kept pushing me away whenever I tried to get close! The monster that forced me to craft a rapid-fire Pierce Light Bowgun and bring an entire supply of Flash Bombs just to defeat it! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Well… I HAD FINALLY DEFEATED IT!!! 🎉 And after that exhausting battle, I returned to the village with something extremely valuable. KUSHALA DAORA MATERIALS!!! 🐉 Which meant… NEW EQUIPMENT!!! And this is where the story gets interesting. Because the monster that had caused me so much suffering… Was about to provide me with the very equipment I needed to make it suffer instead. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🌚🤣 🛠️ THANK YOU FOR YOUR MATERIALS, MR. STEEL DRAGON! After defeating Kushala Daora for the first time, I could finally start crafting some of its equipment. KUSHALA ARMOR!!! 🛡️ Of course, I didn't have enough materials for the entire set immediately. That would have been too convenient! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But I could begin making individual pieces. And those pieces offered something I desperately wanted. WIND RESISTANCE!!! 🌪️ Wait… WIND RESISTANCE?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You mean… That annoying wind barrier? The one that kept pushing me away? The one that made close-range combat so frustrating? I COULD ACTUALLY START RESISTING IT?! OH!!! NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! 🤣🤣🤣 🌪️ THE FIRST TASTE OF REVENGE! So I equipped the armor pieces I'd managed to craft. And returned to fight Kushala Daora again. The Steel Dragon appeared. Its wings spread. The wind began swirling around its body. WHOOOOOOOSH!!! And I thought… "Alright." "Let's see how much this armor helps." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And sure enough… THE WIND WAS BECOMING LESS OF A PROBLEM!!! I still had plenty of work to do. I still needed more materials. And Kushala Daora was still a dangerous opponent. But something had changed. That overwhelming advantage it once had over me? IT WAS STARTING TO DISAPPEAR!!! 😈 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And suddenly, I had a very good reason to keep hunting it. I WANTED THE COMPLETE ARMOR SET!!! 🔁 THE KUSHALA DAORA FARMING OPERATION! And so began another familiar Monster Hunter tradition. FARMING!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Hunt Kushala Daora! Collect materials! Return to the village! Check the equipment list! Craft another piece! Still missing materials? HUNT IT AGAIN!!! 🤣🤣🤣 And again! And again! And again! The same Steel Dragon that had once made me miserable… Was now becoming my personal equipment supplier. HELLO, KUSHALA!!! I'M BACK!!! 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! "Didn't I defeat you last time?" "Yes." "Then why are you here again?!" "I NEED YOUR MATERIALS!!!" 🔨🤣 And the more equipment I completed… The more comfortable those hunts became. It was a beautiful cycle. Defeat the monster. Use its materials. Become better equipped to defeat the same monster again. MONSTER HUNTER LOGIC!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🏆 THE COMPLETE KUSHALA ARMOR SET!!! And eventually… After all those hunts… All those materials… All those trips back to the forge… I FINALLY COMPLETED THE ENTIRE KUSHALA ARMOR SET!!! 🎉🎉🎉 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! YESSSSSSS!!! And the best part? With the complete set and its wind-resistance effect… I COULD FINALLY IGNORE THE WIND BARRIER THAT HAD BEEN TORMENTING ME!!! 🌪️🚫 ... Wait. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! WAIT A MINUTE!!! You mean… The same wind barrier that once made me want to scream? The same wind barrier that forced me to change weapons? The same wind barrier that made me bring piles of Flash Bombs? THAT WIND BARRIER?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! IT DOESN'T WORK ON ME ANYMORE?! OH. OH, THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!! 😈🤣 🔨 HELLO AGAIN, KUSHALA DAORA!!! And so… I returned to the hunt. But this time? I WASN'T BRINGING MY LIGHT BOWGUN AS MY MAIN SOLUTION!!! Oh no. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wanted something much more satisfying. MELEE COMBAT!!! ⚔️🔨 That's right! After all the trouble Kushala Daora had caused me… I finally wanted to get up close and fight it directly! The Steel Dragon appeared. Its wind barrier activated. The familiar gusts began swirling. WHOOOOOOOSH!!! And I walked forward. ... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! "What's wrong?" "Where's that annoying wind?" "Why aren't you pushing me away anymore?" 🤣🤣🤣 Kushala Daora: "WAIT… WHAT?!" 🐉 Me: "REMEMBER ME?!" 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 💥 THE WIND BARRIER MEANS NOTHING!!! And then… SLAAAAASH!!! ⚔️💥 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! TAKE THAT!!! Another opening! BONK!!! 🔨 Another attack! SLASH!!! BONK!!! CLANG!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, this felt GOOD!!! For so long, Kushala Daora had made close-range combat incredibly frustrating. I'd try to approach. The wind would interfere. I'd try to attack. The wind would interfere again. And eventually, I'd end up getting knocked around like a helpless little leaf in a hurricane! But now? I COULD FINALLY FIGHT AT CLOSE RANGE WITHOUT THAT SAME PROBLEM!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Of course, Kushala Daora still had its other attacks. It was still an Elder Dragon. And it could still hurt me if I got careless. But its most irritating defensive advantage? GONE!!! And that made all the difference. 😈 THE HUNTER BECOMES THE BULLY! Now imagine this from Kushala Daora's perspective. The first time we met… It was terrifying. Its wind barrier kept me away. Its attacks repeatedly defeated me. And I had to retreat, change weapons, and develop an entirely new strategy just to survive. Then I finally defeated it. Took its materials. Made some armor. Returned. Defeated it again. Took more materials. Made more armor. And eventually… I SHOWED UP WEARING A COMPLETE SET OF ITS OWN ARMOR!!! 🐉🛡️ HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HOW INSULTING IS THAT?! 🤣🤣🤣 Kushala Daora: "I AM THE STEEL DRAGON!!!" "I COMMAND THE WINDS!!!" "MY WIND BARRIER PROTECTS ME!!!" Me: "NOT ANYMORE!!!" 🌚 BONK!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! "I AM AN ELDER DRAGON!!!" BONK!!! "I AM A LEGENDARY CREATURE!!!" SLASH!!! "YOU CANNOT DISRESPECT ME LIKE THIS!!!" BONK!!! BONK!!! BONK!!! 🤣🤣🤣 WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HUNT!!! 🧠 THE BEAUTY OF MONSTER HUNTER'S EQUIPMENT SYSTEM Looking back, I think this is one of the most satisfying parts of Monster Hunter. At first, a powerful monster seems overwhelming. Its attacks are dangerous. Its abilities are unfamiliar. And you struggle just to survive. But eventually, you defeat it. And then something wonderful happens. YOU CAN USE ITS OWN MATERIALS TO BECOME STRONGER!!! And sometimes… Those materials give you exactly the kind of resistance you need to make future hunts much easier. That's what happened with Kushala Daora. The first victory was incredibly difficult. I needed Flash Bombs. I needed a suitable Light Bowgun. I needed ammunition. I needed preparation. And I needed many, many attempts. But once I started crafting Kushala equipment? The situation gradually changed. Until eventually… THE MONSTER THAT HAD ONCE TERRIFIED ME BECAME A MONSTER I COULD HAPPILY FIGHT AT CLOSE RANGE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What an incredible feeling! 🌚 THE MOST BEAUTIFUL REVENGE And the funniest part? I WAS USING KUSHALA DAORA'S OWN EQUIPMENT AGAINST IT!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Think about that for a moment. Kushala Daora's wind barrier was the reason I'd struggled so much. So I defeated Kushala Daora. Used its materials to make wind-resistant armor. And then returned to fight Kushala Daora… WITHOUT CARING ABOUT ITS WIND BARRIER!!! 🤣🤣🤣 THE SOLUTION TO KUSHALA DAORA… WAS MORE KUSHALA DAORA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It's almost poetic. The dragon that once controlled the battlefield with wind… Had provided me with the tools to take that advantage away. And now? IT WAS MY TURN TO HAVE FUN!!! ❤️ FROM STRUGGLE TO MASTERY This experience also reminded me of something I'd learned much earlier in my Monster Hunter journey. Remember the Bulldrome? The first time I fought it, I kept getting knocked around by its charges. I struggled. I failed. I prepared traps. And eventually, I won. But I wasn't satisfied. So I kept practicing. Until I could defeat it comfortably with my hammer. The same monster. The same attacks. But a completely different experience. And now, with Kushala Daora? Something similar had happened. Except this time, it wasn't just my personal skill improving. MY EQUIPMENT HAD EVOLVED TOO!!! The first hunt had been about survival. The later hunts had been about collecting materials. And once the full armor set was complete? THE HUNT HAD BECOME SOMETHING I COULD ACTUALLY ENJOY!!! 🔨🔥 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🐉 A FINAL MESSAGE TO THE STEEL DRAGON Dear Kushala Daora, Do you remember me? The little hunter you kept blowing away? The one who couldn't get close? The one who died over and over again? The one who eventually returned with a Light Bowgun and enough Flash Bombs to make your life miserable? Well… I'M BACK!!! 😈 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And this time… I'M WEARING YOUR ARMOR!!! Thank you for the materials! Thank you for the wind resistance! Thank you for helping me complete such a wonderful equipment set! And most importantly… THANK YOU FOR MAKING YOUR OWN WIND BARRIER USELESS AGAINST ME!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You really shouldn't have given me such useful materials. Because now? I DON'T NEED TO RUN AWAY FROM YOUR WIND!!! I CAN WALK RIGHT UP TO YOU!!! And… BONK!!! 🔨💥 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🏆 ANOTHER CHAPTER COMPLETE! And just like that… The terrifying Steel Dragon had become another unforgettable part of my Monster Hunter 2 journey. From repeated failures… To a hard-earned first victory… To farming materials… To completing the full Kushala armor set… And finally… TO BULLYING THE VERY MONSTER THAT HAD ONCE BULLIED ME!!! 🌚🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What a beautiful ending! Not every challenge disappears because you become a better player. Sometimes, you prepare better equipment. Sometimes, you learn a monster's weaknesses. And sometimes… YOU TURN THE MONSTER INTO A SET OF ARMOR AND COME BACK FOR REVENGE!!! 🐉🛡️ HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! KUSHALA ARMOR SET COMPLETE!!! WIND BARRIER? WHAT WIND BARRIER?! MELEE WEAPONS ARE BACK!!!
