A chilling yet stark truth is this: if you show sincerity to a calculating person, they'll only perceive it as a deeper scheming; if you show kindness to a malicious person, they won't see it as genuine kindness, but rather as pretense. This is because the greatest limitation of human beings is that they can only understand others through their own inherent biases. Therefore, if you give to a selfish person, they'll only assume you have ulterior motives. Thus, selective application becomes a crucial life lesson—always be sincere only to sincere people, and always be kind only to kind people. Otherwise, you might help them, and they'll turn around and do the opposite.
