This researcher’s analysis highlights the central tension in pearl-2:native : a compelling technical vision can coexist with substantial issuance pressure. That leaves room for significant upside, but it also makes the distinction between an investment and a trade essential. An investment thesis rests on fundamentals, a time horizon, and clear conditions that would invalidate it. A trading thesis puts more weight on price action, token distribution, liquidity, and the balance between buyers and sellers. A strong narrative can support either—but it should never become an excuse to abandon an exit plan. As this researcher mentioned: The comparison with zcash:native is useful. Both combine serious technical foundations with ambitious monetary narratives. Their issuance schedules and market structures differ, however, and Zcash’s rally is a reference point, not a roadmap for pearl-2:native . For now, PEARL’s price is heavily influenced by how much miners sell, how much holders retain, and how much demand arrives to absorb supply. Miner conviction matters. So do early holdings, ongoing emissions, and the depth of actual liquidity. Institutional attention alone cannot settle that equation. The longer-term opportunity lies in making useful AI computation an economically attractive way to mine. If inference providers can earn PEARL alongside customer revenue without materially compromising performance, the network could gain a durable source of participation. If PEARL then develops genuine demand for compute payments, settlement, or reserves, the investment case becomes stronger. Those are separate milestones. Producing tokens during inference does not automatically create demand for them, and lower mining costs do not guarantee that providers will hold their rewards. That is why, at this stage, I view PEARL primarily as a trading asset with a potentially compelling long-term investment thesis still to prove. Significant upside remains possible; confidence in the technology is not, by itself, confidence in any entry price. The future worth watching is one where AI performs useful work, operators earn additional revenue from that same computation, and crypto provides a credible settlement layer around it. That possibility is what makes pearl-2:native interesting. Whether it becomes reality is what deserves continued research My longer analysis of PEARL’s technology, mining economics, supply, and valuation: https://x.com/xizhe_chan/status/2113560731480436973
