Washington just opened a new front in its war on Tether. A senator is demanding Tether's records over $6M+ allegedly paid to a firm co-owned by a former White House crypto adviser — while that adviser was helping shape stablecoin legislation. Read that twice. My take: this stopped being routine oversight the moment "transparency" became a partisan tool. The real target usually isn't one payment — it's squeezing non-US issuers out of the dollar stablecoin game. Tether has survived a decade of attacks, but political attacks don't need to be right. They just need to be loud. Which side are you on: legitimate accountability, or political theater dressed up as regulation?
