8 AM today at Gatwick Airport's South Terminal in London. Seven climate protesters sat in front of the departure gates, gluing their hands to orange boxes to block the way. Then came the most humiliating moment: passengers catching flights didn't even argue with them. They literally stepped over their legs and backpacks to get through. In the video, one guy looks back while stepping over them, his face saying: "Don't make me miss my flight." Police arrested eight people. Hours later, the same group showed up at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5, spraying orange paint on the departure boards. They were dragged away by security almost immediately. They wanted to be martyrs. But at Gatwick, they just became human stepping stones.
