I am a Democrat. I very much want the Democrats to win majorities in both houses of Congress to implement a positive vision for America and counter the illegal actions and abuses of the Trump administration. But the last thing we Democrats should do is support or elect a deeply compromised anti-American bigot like Abdul El-Sayed to the United States Senate. El-Sayed himself has expressed support for the Muslim Brotherhood. His family is deeply connected to it by their own admission, yet he has lied to the American public about that. He has been unable to distance himself from his campaign partner, Hasan Piker, who believes America deserved 9/11. Democrats should support credible and patriotic Democratic candidates. We should not support anti-American bigots who would put our party and our nation at risk. Putting country over party is not easy, but it is the right thing to do for our party and our nation.
