I have always believed that letting people speak—whether positive or negative, true or false—won’t bring the sky down. As long as you conduct yourself uprightly and with integrity. But if you don’t allow people to speak, and everyone is reduced to communicating only with their eyes out of fear (“roads filled with glances”), it will eventually collapse.
