🐱🔥🐉 MONSTER HUNTER 2 (DOS) — CHAPTER 38: RATHALOS & AZURE RATHALOS!!! THE TWIN KINGS OF THE SKY!!! 🎮⚔️🤣 Last time… I told you about Yama Tsukami. The enormous floating Elder Dragon! A gigantic octopus-like monster! And an ancient tower that seemed to have absolutely no end! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 That hunt wasn't particularly difficult for me. My strategy was simple. CHARGE!!! POKE!!! POKE!!! POKE!!! GUARD!!! But the climbing? The waiting? The jumping? IT TOOK FOREVER!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! However… While remembering my adventures in the Ancient Tower… Another memory suddenly came back to me. And this one? OH, THIS ONE WAS A NIGHTMARE!!! Because somewhere in that ancient tower… There was a quest involving not one… But TWO FLYING WYVERNS!!! RATHALOS!!! ❤️🔥 AND… AZURE RATHALOS!!! 💙🔥 THE TWIN KINGS OF THE SKY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And let me tell you something. FIGHTING ONE RATHALOS WAS ALREADY TROUBLESOME!!! FIGHTING TWO?!?! WHAT KIND OF INSANE QUEST IS THIS?!?! 🤣🤣🤣 🏰 THE DRAGONS' NEST!!! The Ancient Tower. A mysterious place filled with towering ruins. An ancient structure that already held plenty of unforgettable memories. And now… Another challenge awaited me. RATHALOS AND AZURE RATHALOS!!! Two powerful flying wyverns. Two enormous creatures capable of attacking from the sky. Two monsters that were dangerous enough individually. And somehow… The game expected me to deal with both! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ME: "WAIT…" ME: "TWO RATHALOS?!" PALICO: "YES!!!" ME: "AT THE SAME TIME?!" PALICO: "POSSIBLY!!!" ME: "…" ME: "WHO DESIGNED THIS QUEST?!?!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🔥 AT FIRST, THERE WAS ONLY ONE!!! Now, my memory of the exact order is a little fuzzy. After all… This happened many years ago! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I can't remember whether the regular Rathalos or Azure Rathalos appeared first. But I remember the important part. THEY DIDN'T SIMPLY START BY STANDING TOGETHER!!! One appeared first. And I began fighting it. GOOD!!! ONE MONSTER!!! I CAN HANDLE THIS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 So naturally… I attacked as aggressively as possible! FIRE!!! ATTACK!!! KEEP DEALING DAMAGE!!! Because I knew something important. THE OTHER ONE WAS COMING!!! And that meant… EVERY SECOND COUNTED!!! 💀 SURPRISE!!! HERE COMES THE SECOND RATHALOS!!! And then… Right in the middle of the battle… ROOOOOOOOOAR!!! 🐉🔥 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! OH NO!!! THE SECOND ONE HAS ARRIVED!!! Suddenly… The situation changed completely. One flying wyvern was already attacking me. And now another one had joined the fight! TWO RATHALOS!!! ONE HUNTER!!! ABSOLUTE CHAOS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RATHALOS: "YOU DARE CHALLENGE ME?!" ME: "YES!!!" AZURE RATHALOS: "THEN ALLOW ME TO JOIN!!!" ME: "NO!!!" AZURE RATHALOS: "TOO LATE!!!" ME: "DAMN IT!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And suddenly… I wasn't just fighting a monster. I WAS TRYING TO SURVIVE A FAMILY REUNION!!! 🐉🐉 TWO MONSTERS ARE NOT JUST TWICE AS DIFFICULT!!! Here's the problem with fighting two flying wyverns at once. It's not simply that there are twice as many attacks. It's that their attacks interfere with everything you're trying to do! You're watching one Rathalos. Preparing to dodge. Looking for an opening. And then… BOOOOOOM!!! The other one attacks! 🤣🤣🤣 You dodge one monster… And accidentally move into the path of the other! You finally find an opportunity to attack… And suddenly another Rathalos comes flying toward you! ROAR!!! FIREBALL!!! CHARGE!!! FLY!!! LAND!!! ATTACK!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO LOOK?!?! LEFT?!?! RIGHT?!?! UP?!?! EVERYWHERE?!?! 🤣🤣🤣 And that's when I realized… I COULDN'T JUST FIGHT BOTH OF THEM NORMALLY!!! I needed a strategy. 🧠 THE SOLUTION: NEVER FIGHT TWO AT ONCE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yes. That was my solution. Simple. Practical. And absolutely necessary! IF TWO MONSTERS ARE TOO DIFFICULT… THEN MAKE SURE YOU'RE ONLY FIGHTING ONE!!! 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Of course, saying that was easy. Actually making it happen? That required timing. Positioning. Preparation. And one of the most useful items in Monster Hunter… FLASH BOMBS!!! 💥✨ YES!!! FLASH BOMBS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 💥 FLASH BOMB!!! LOOK OVER HERE!!! Here's how I remember handling the situation. First… While only one Rathalos was present… ATTACK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!! Don't waste the opportunity! Deal damage! Keep attacking! Try to build an advantage before the second monster arrives! Then… When both monsters were present… FLASH BOMB!!! ✨💥 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Blind one! Disrupt its attacks! Create a precious opening! And while that monster was stunned… FOCUS ON THE OTHER ONE!!! ATTACK!!! ATTACK!!! ATTACK!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The goal wasn't to fight both monsters equally. The goal was to control the situation so that I could concentrate on a single target. ONE MONSTER AT A TIME!!! THAT WAS THE PLAN!!! ⚔️ DIVIDE AND CONQUER!!! The basic idea was simple. STEP ONE: When the first Rathalos appears… DEAL AS MUCH DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE!!! STEP TWO: When the second Rathalos arrives… DON'T PANIC!!! Well… TRY not to panic! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! STEP THREE: Use Flash Bombs to interrupt and control one of them. STEP FOUR: Concentrate my attacks on the other monster. STEP FIVE: If one flies away, use that opportunity! If one is stunned, use that opportunity! If one can be defeated or captured… FINISH IT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!!! And then… REPEAT THE PROCESS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The entire strategy revolved around one objective. KEEP THE FIGHT AS CLOSE TO A ONE-ON-ONE BATTLE AS POSSIBLE!!! Because two Rathalos attacking together? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! 🤣 THE MOST UNFAIR GAME OF HIDE-AND-SEEK!!! Imagine the conversation. RATHALOS: "WE SHALL DEFEAT THIS HUNTER TOGETHER!!!" AZURE RATHALOS: "YES!!!" ME: "NO, YOU WON'T!!!" RATHALOS: "WHAT?!" ME: "FLASH BOMB!!!" BOOOOOOM!!! 💥 AZURE RATHALOS: "AAAAAHHH!!! I CAN'T SEE!!!" ME: "GOOD!!!" ME: "NOW YOU WAIT HERE!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Then I turn toward the other Rathalos. ME: "YOUR TURN!!!" RATHALOS: "WAIT!!!" ME: "ATTACK!!!" RATHALOS: "WHERE'S MY PARTNER?!?!" ME: "TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RATHALOS: "THAT'S CHEATING!!!" ME: "IT'S CALLED STRATEGY!!!" 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ⏳ THE REAL CHALLENGE WAS MAINTAINING CONTROL!!! Of course… This wasn't as easy as throwing one Flash Bomb and instantly winning. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Flash effects don't last forever. Monsters move. Monsters fly away. And sooner or later… The second Rathalos becomes a problem again! So I had to keep adjusting. Watching their positions. Finding opportunities. Using Flash Bombs when necessary. Attacking the target I'd already weakened. And trying to avoid letting both monsters overwhelm me. KEEP THEM SEPARATED!!! KEEP THE PRESSURE ON ONE TARGET!!! DON'T LET THE FIGHT TURN INTO COMPLETE CHAOS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 It was exhausting! But it made sense. Because every time I could isolate one monster… The battle became much more manageable. 🐱 WHY I LOVE MONSTER HUNTER!!! And this is something I really appreciate about the old Monster Hunter games. Sometimes, you encounter a problem that seems almost impossible. Two powerful flying wyverns. One small hunter. A battlefield full of danger. And at first… You might think the only solution is to become incredibly good at dodging everything. But that isn't necessarily true. Sometimes… THE SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE HOW THE BATTLE WORKS!!! Instead of trying to fight two monsters at once… I tried to create situations where I could fight one. Instead of spreading my damage between both targets… I concentrated on a single monster. Instead of reacting to complete chaos… I used items to control the battlefield. THAT WAS THE REAL STRATEGY!!! And honestly? That felt incredibly satisfying! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🔥 ONE DOWN!!! NOW THE OTHER!!! Because once one of the two monsters was finally defeated or captured… Everything changed. ONE RATHALOS REMAINING!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! OH!!! NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! No more trying to watch two enormous flying wyverns at the same time! No more surprise attacks from the second monster! No more constantly worrying about both of them! Now… IT'S JUST YOU AND ME!!! 🐱⚔️🐉 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RATHALOS: "WHERE IS MY PARTNER?!" ME: "GONE!!!" RATHALOS: "WHAT?!?!" ME: "AND NOW…" ME: "YOU'RE NEXT!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! After all that effort… Getting the battle down to a single target was an enormous relief. 🏰 THE ANCIENT TOWER'S TRUE CHALLENGE!!! Looking back, I find this hunt particularly memorable. Not simply because Rathalos and Azure Rathalos were powerful monsters. But because the quest forced me to think differently. Against Yama Tsukami… The problem was time and patience. Against White Fatalis… I could survive, but couldn't defeat it before the quest ended. Against Rathalos and Azure Rathalos… The problem was CONTROLLING TWO MONSTERS!!! And my solution? FLASH BOMBS!!! FOCUSED DAMAGE!!! SEPARATE THE TARGETS!!! FINISH ONE FIRST!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I didn't need to defeat two monsters simultaneously. I needed to prevent them from fighting me simultaneously! THAT'S A VERY DIFFERENT PROBLEM!!! 🤣 THE TWIN KINGS OF THE SKY!!! And I can only imagine how ridiculous the entire battle looked. Two magnificent flying wyverns. The rulers of the sky! Roaring proudly above the ancient tower! And one tiny hunter below them… Frantically throwing Flash Bombs! RATHALOS: "WE RULE THE SKIES!!!" AZURE RATHALOS: "NO HUNTER CAN DEFEAT US TOGETHER!!!" ME: "THEN I WON'T FIGHT YOU TOGETHER!!!" RATHALOS: "WHAT?!" ME: "FLASH BOMB!!!" 💥✨ HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! AZURE RATHALOS: "MY EYES!!!" RATHALOS: "WHERE DID HE GO?!?!" ME: "RIGHT HERE!!!" ATTACK!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RATHALOS: "STOP SEPARATING US!!!" ME: "STOP ATTACKING ME TOGETHER!!!" RATHALOS: "THAT'S OUR STRATEGY!!!" ME: "AND THIS IS MINE!!!" 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ❤️ ANOTHER MEMORY FROM THE PS2 ERA!!! It's funny. After so many years… I can't remember every detail. I can't even remember which Rathalos appeared first. But I remember the difficulty. I remember the chaos when the second monster arrived. And most importantly… I REMEMBER THE STRATEGY!!! Deal as much damage as possible before both monsters are present. Use Flash Bombs to interrupt one. Focus on the other. Take advantage whenever one flies away. Defeat or capture a target as quickly as possible. And keep repeating that process until the fight becomes manageable. That memory has stayed with me. Because this wasn't just a battle of reflexes. IT WAS A BATTLE OF CONTROL!!! 🐉 TWO DRAGONS, ONE HUNTER!!! And so… Another unforgettable chapter of my Monster Hunter 2 adventure returns. RATHALOS!!! ❤️ AZURE RATHALOS!!! 💙 THE ANCIENT TOWER!!! 🏰 Two powerful flying wyverns. One extremely troublesome quest. And one hunter who absolutely refused to fight both monsters fairly! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 WHY FIGHT TWO AT ONCE WHEN YOU CAN KEEP FORCING THEM INTO ONE-ON-ONE BATTLES?!?! 🌚 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The Twin Kings of the Sky were terrifying. But the lesson was simple. DON'T LET YOUR ENEMIES DECIDE HOW THE BATTLE WILL BE FOUGHT!!! CREATE YOUR OWN ADVANTAGE!!! And sometimes… All you need is a little preparation… A lot of patience… And a very bright… FLASH BOMB!!! 💥✨ HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
