🐱⛵🌍 MONSTER HUNTER 2 (DOS) — CHAPTER 39: TO KOKOTO VILLAGE!!! A NEW LAND, A NEW ADVENTURE!!! 🎮🤣 Last time… I remembered one of the most troublesome hunts in the Ancient Tower! RATHALOS!!! ❤️🔥 AZURE RATHALOS!!! 💙🔥 TWO FLYING WYVERNS!!! ONE HUNTER!!! ABSOLUTE CHAOS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 My strategy was simple. NEVER FIGHT BOTH OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME!!! Flash Bombs! Focused attacks! Separate the monsters! Defeat or capture one as quickly as possible! And repeat until the situation becomes manageable! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But after all those adventures… After fighting countless monsters… After exploring forests, deserts, swamps, snowy mountains, volcanoes, and ancient ruins… It was finally time for something different. A NEW DESTINATION!!! A NEW VILLAGE!!! A NEW HUNTING GROUND!!! And so… MY JOURNEY TO KOKOTO VILLAGE BEGAN!!! ⛵ 🌍 THE NEXT ADVENTURE!!! Now, here's something funny. I remember fighting many of the monsters in Monster Hunter 2. Some battles are still incredibly vivid in my mind. I remember the frustration of Yian Kut-Ku. The ridiculous hip checks of Plesioth. The wind barrier of Kushala Daora. The nightmare that was Lunastra. And even the strange feeling of surviving White Fatalis without being able to defeat it! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But when it comes to the details of the villages? I BARELY REMEMBER ANYTHING!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously! Ask me about a monster that made me suffer twenty years ago? OH!!! I REMEMBER THAT!!! Ask me what a particular villager said? ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But I do remember something important. MY HABITS!!! And those habits were very consistent. Whenever I arrived somewhere new… I TALKED TO EVERY SINGLE NPC!!! ⛵ GOODBYE, JUMBO VILLAGE!!! After spending so much time around Jumbo Village… A new destination was waiting. KOKOTO VILLAGE!!! One of the classic locations in the Monster Hunter world! And reaching it meant that my adventure was continuing beyond the places I'd already explored. A new village! New surroundings! New conversations! New opportunities! And most importantly… NEW PLACES TO HUNT!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Because let's be clear about something. I wasn't traveling for a relaxing vacation. I wasn't looking for a peaceful retirement. I wasn't planning to spend my days enjoying the scenery. I WANTED TO EXPLORE THE NEXT MAP!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! PALICO: "A NEW VILLAGE!!! HOW EXCITING!!!" ME: "YES!!!" PALICO: "WE CAN MEET NEW PEOPLE!!!" ME: "YES!!!" PALICO: "WE CAN LEARN ABOUT THEIR CULTURE!!!" ME: "YES!!!" PALICO: "WE CAN ENJOY THE PEACEFUL COUNTRYSIDE!!!" ME: "WHERE ARE THE MONSTERS?!?!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🏘️ WELCOME TO KOKOTO VILLAGE!!! And so… I arrived at Kokoto Village. A new location. A new place to explore. And another chapter of my Monster Hunter 2 journey. Now, I wish I could tell you exactly what I thought when I first arrived. I wish I could remember every building. Every conversation. Every little detail. But… I CAN'T!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 It's been far too many years! However… There is one thing I can say with confidence. I ABSOLUTELY WOULD HAVE STARTED TALKING TO EVERYONE!!! Because that's simply how I played games! 💬 THE GREAT NPC INTERROGATION BEGINS!!! Whenever I entered a new town or village in an RPG or adventure game… I had a rule. TALK TO EVERY NPC!!! EVERY!!! SINGLE!!! ONE!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Why? Because you never know what they might tell you! Maybe someone gives you useful information. Maybe someone unlocks a new feature. Maybe someone has an important request. Maybe someone explains something about the village. Maybe someone gives you an item. Or maybe… They just say hello! I DON'T CARE!!! I'M TALKING TO THEM ANYWAY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Imagine arriving at Kokoto Village. VILLAGER: "WELCOME, HUNTER!!!" ME: "HELLO!!!" VILLAGER: "WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?" ME: "I'M TALKING TO EVERYONE!!!" VILLAGER: "…EVERYONE?" ME: "EVERYONE!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! VILLAGER: "WHY?!" ME: "BECAUSE YOU MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY!!!" VILLAGER: "I JUST WANTED TO SAY GOOD MORNING!!!" ME: "THANK YOU!!! NEXT NPC!!!" HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 👴 THE VILLAGE CHIEF!!! Of course… If there's a village chief… I'm talking to the village chief! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ME: "HELLO!!!" VILLAGE CHIEF: "WELCOME TO KOKOTO VILLAGE." ME: "NICE TO MEET YOU!!!" VILLAGE CHIEF: "ARE YOU HERE TO BEGIN A NEW ADVENTURE?" ME: "YES!!!" VILLAGE CHIEF: "THEN PERHAPS YOU SHOULD LEARN ABOUT—" ME: "I WILL READ EVERYTHING!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And after finishing that conversation? NEXT NPC!!! Because my job wasn't done! 📜 THE QUEST COUNTER!!! Next stop… The quest counter! Because obviously… I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I CAN HUNT!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! QUEST COUNTER: "WELCOME!!! WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THE AVAILABLE QUESTS?" ME: "YES!!!" QUEST COUNTER: "WHAT KIND OF QUEST ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?" ME: "ALL OF THEM!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! New quests meant new possibilities. New monsters. New materials. New equipment. And perhaps another challenge that would make me regret turning on my PS2! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But that's exactly what made the game exciting. WHAT'S NEXT?!?! WHAT CAN I HUNT NOW?!?! WHAT NEW MATERIALS CAN I COLLECT?!?! 🛠️ THE EQUIPMENT INSPECTION!!! And naturally… Whenever new possibilities appeared… I had to think about equipment. Weapons! Armor! Materials! Upgrades! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You already know how I played. I wasn't the kind of hunter who only cared about defeating a monster once. If I found useful equipment… I WANTED TO CRAFT IT!!! If I needed materials… I WOULD FARM THEM!!! If I found a new weapon worth trying… I WOULD EXPERIMENT!!! 🤣🤣🤣 After all… I'd already spent countless hours using different weapons. Hammer! Great Sword! Bow! Light Bowgun! Heavy Bowgun! Lance! Each weapon had its own purpose. And each new hunting ground meant another opportunity to use what I'd learned. BUT FIRST… MORE NPC CONVERSATIONS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🐱 PALICO, WE'RE NOT DONE YET!!! Imagine my little Palico following me around the village. We've arrived. We've looked around. We've talked to the chief. We've checked the quests. We've inspected the available facilities. Surely it's time to leave? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! PALICO: "ARE WE READY TO GO HUNTING?!" ME: "NOT YET!!!" PALICO: "WHY NOT?!" ME: "THERE'S AN NPC OVER THERE!!!" PALICO: "YOU ALREADY TALKED TO EVERYONE!!!" ME: "ARE YOU SURE?!?!" PALICO: "…" ME: "LET'S CHECK AGAIN!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yes. I was that kind of player. NO NPC LEFT UNQUESTIONED!!! 🌚 🌳 AND THEN… THE NEW HUNTING GROUND!!! But of course… The village itself wasn't the final destination. Because beyond Kokoto Village… There was another place waiting. A classic hunting ground. A location familiar to many hunters from the earliest days of Monster Hunter. FOREST AND HILLS!!! 🌳⛰️ A landscape of forests, grassy hills, cliffs, and open skies. A new place to explore. And another part of the Monster Hunter world waiting to reveal its secrets. For longtime players of the original Monster Hunter… Kokoto Village and Forest and Hills might feel like coming home. But for me, experiencing them through Monster Hunter 2… IT WAS ANOTHER STEP FORWARD!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 🧭 MY EXPLORATION PHILOSOPHY!!! Now, something else about my playstyle is worth mentioning. Whenever a new map became available… I WANTED TO GO THERE FIRST!!! It didn't matter whether I'd defeated every monster in the previous area. It didn't matter whether I'd completed every optional quest. It didn't matter whether there were still materials I could farm. If a new map opened… I WANTED TO EXPLORE IT!!! 🤣🤣🤣 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Because a new map meant new experiences! And honestly… That was one of the things I loved most about Monster Hunter 2. The feeling of gradually expanding the world. At first, you're just a hunter in Jumbo Village. Then you explore the forest. The desert. The swamp. The snowy mountains. The volcano. The Ancient Tower. And eventually… You discover even more places! THE WORLD KEEPS GETTING BIGGER!!! 🤣 I REMEMBER THE MONSTERS, NOT THE DIALOGUE!!! And this is probably the funniest part of trying to reconstruct these memories. I can remember specific hunting strategies from years ago. I remember using Sonic Bombs against Cephadrome. I remember the strange hitbox of Plesioth. I remember using Flash Bombs against Kushala Daora. I remember using the snow mountain dog hole against Kirin. I remember my lance strategy against Yama Tsukami. And I remember using Flash Bombs to separate Rathalos and Azure Rathalos! But ask me what happened in the village? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! NO IDEA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Apparently, my brain decided… MONSTER ATTACK PATTERNS: PERMANENT MEMORY!!! NPC DIALOGUE: DELETE AFTER READING!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Honestly… That sounds exactly like me. ❤️ A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS!!! Still… Even without remembering every conversation… I remember the excitement of exploring new places. And that's what this chapter represents. Not a legendary battle. Not a difficult monster. Not another enormous farming session. But something just as important. THE BEGINNING OF A NEW JOURNEY!!! Leaving familiar surroundings behind. Arriving somewhere new. Talking to everyone. Checking what the world has to offer. And preparing to explore the next hunting ground. Sometimes, an adventure isn't defined by the monster you defeat. Sometimes… It's defined by the moment you realize… THERE'S STILL MORE WORLD LEFT TO DISCOVER!!! ⛵ THANK YOU, JUMBO VILLAGE!!! HELLO, KOKOTO!!! And so… My journey continued. From Jumbo Village… Toward Kokoto Village. From familiar hunting grounds… Toward a new landscape. From the memories of past battles… Toward whatever challenges awaited me next. NEW VILLAGE!!! NEW NPCS!!! NEW QUESTS!!! NEW HUNTING GROUND!!!
