I’ve seen plenty of crypto products advertise attractive yields. The number usually comes first. The questions come later — if they come at all. @grvt_io Where does the return come from? Who manages the underlying assets? How liquid are they? What happens when markets move against the strategy? And who actually controls the money? That’s why I’m looking at GRVT’s fixed-income direction from a different angle. The headline target of up to 11% APY is not the part that will decide whether the product works. The real test is whether GRVT can make the structure understandable and verifiable for users who are not professional credit analysts. Tokenized fixed income can bring traditional cash flows onchain, but tokenization does not remove credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk, or operational risk. It only gives the product a new set of rails. The quality of those rails — and the transparency around the assets behind them — will matter more than the APY displayed on the screen. GRVT’s self-custodial approach is important here because control and access are not the same thing. A platform can make an asset easy to buy while still leaving users unclear about what they own or how it can be used. GRVT is trying to give users more direct control while connecting these assets to a broader trading environment. The opportunity is large. Fixed income represents roughly $160T in global value, and most retail users still experience only a small part of it. But bringing institutional products onchain is not about copying the headline returns institutions receive. It is about copying the discipline: clear risk, defined terms, reliable settlement, and proper liquidity. If GRVT (@grvt_io)gets that part right, the product could earn trust for a reason that has nothing to do with the biggest number on the page.
