But the split tells the real story: as Bitcoin hit its weekly high of $84,777 Mon–Wed, institutions poured in $1.08 billion; when price slipped Thu–Fri, $774 million walked straight out the door, including $636 million on Thursday alone. Worse, DWF Labs found that in 7 of 8 Bitcoin sell-offs of 15%+ since spot ETFs launched in January 2024, ETF flows were net negative. The "institutional dip buyer" is mostly a momentum chaser in a suit. My take: ETFs aren't believers, they're weathervanes — they amplify rallies and exit first in drops.
