The founder of a food delivery app was doing a "day in the life" ride-along with one of his top-rated drivers. At the end of a 14-hour shift, he asked: "You've been doing this for six years. If I gave you $200,000 right now, what would you do?" The driver didn't look up from his phone. He was already accepting the next order. "I'd buy the algorithm," he said. The founder laughed. "The algorithm?" "Yeah. The thing that decides when I eat, when I sleep, and how much I'm worth." The founder stopped laughing.
