We Democrats are entirely justified to seek majorities in both houses of Congress to confront the blatant illegality, corruption, and cruelty of the Trump administration, but our path to victory cannot depend on supporting anti-American bigots running on the Democratic line like Abdul El-Sayed and Darializa Avila Chevalier. Instead of betraying our best values and undermining our credibility with the broader American public by supporting these dangerous and toxic candidates, we must win by supporting candidates who love our country and are committed to making it stronger.
