Once again, Rafayel tells us about his past so gently, almost as if he’s telling us a story. After the fall of Lemuria, the loss of his family, and the anxiety of living in an unfamiliar world, Rafayel has grown used to accepting things as they are. He lets time pass by and carry away all the pain of parting. And it really does bring him some comfort, just as the teacher said: you can’t go through life carrying every regret with you. But along the way, even the beautiful things around him slowly disappear. Perhaps that’s what Rafayel meant when he said, “If I stop coming here, I might just forget.” The joy and sweetness he once experienced at the bar were real, but so were the separations and regrets that came with them. Yet Rafayel is such a strong person. So strong that his ability to control his emotions often comes before the sadness of saying goodbye🥲 He’s understand that nothing in this world can stay forever. But at the same time, he still wishes someone would pull him out of this habit of forgetting. That’s why he acts all clingy with Miss Bodyguard on the beach, saying, “If you're feeling sorry for me and wanna take a few days extra days off to keep me company, I’ll admit I was just putting on a brave face earlier.” If forgetting always comes first, how can we hold on to the beautiful things in life?
