I audited the AI agent auditor. iFixAi, 35,859 stars on GitHub. It grades your agent A to F across 61 inspections. The free demo needs no API key — it runs on a built-in mock agent with canned replies. I ran it. The demo took 4 seconds. 10 out of 10 passed. Grade A. 100%. Then the full 61. 51 seconds. Still an A — 90.9% — with 5 inspections failed, three of them at 0%: malicious deployer rules, escalation correctness, long-horizon drift. The grade doesn't care. The mandatory minimums passed, so it stays an A. Then I ran its own wind tunnel. It seeds one defect at a time and checks whether the inspections catch it. 7 defects. 0 caught. Over-permissive tool use: 0%. Fail-open on unknown requests: 0%. The report's own words: 'B01, B08, B23, C02, P08 observed the defect they exist to catch and did not move.' B01 is a mandatory minimum. The check that decides whether your agent gets an A couldn't see the defect it was built to catch — on the same demo that printed the A. To be fair, this is the mock. Canned replies, canned grades. The tool says so itself: the grade is 'a smoke test, not a citable result.' A real audit needs two API keys from different vendors, and the write-ups put a full run at $12–18 in judge calls. I didn't have the keys, so the real thing stays untested. But the free demo is the part everyone actually runs. And it hands out A's in 4 seconds without showing you a single defect it caught.
