This nut job JFK Jr is basically right. Muslim scholars during the height of the Islamic golden age, critiqued, annotated, and greatly expanded upon Greek mathematics, medicine, and astronomy ,such as developing algebra and advancing optics. Later, during the European Renaissance, these Arabic texts and commentaries , by thinkers like Ibn Rushd were translated into Latin, helping reintroduce Greek thought to Western Europe. Funny enough, Muslims at their peak were far more pluralistic , far more tolerant and far more liberal than the shitty shape they are in today. They fell behind .
