šØ BREAKING NEWS!! Franceās government has reportedly offered major education concessions after weeks of student protests! š«š· But hereās the shocking part⦠STUDENTS SAY ITāS STILL NOT ENOUGH!! According to a report attributed to the BBC, the French government has proposed a sweeping package of education reforms: Hire 3,000 additional substitute teachers for schools facing severe staffing shortages and disadvantaged suburban areas. Cancel planned teacher layoffs and create another 500 teaching positions. Starting in 2027, cap first-year high school classes at 28 students, beginning with disadvantaged schools. Provide up to ā¬4 BILLION in low-interest loans for school renovations by 2030, plus another ā¬1 BILLION for universities. Create 15,000 additional university places across 2027 and 2028. Increase student grants starting in 2027 and link future increases to inflation. Overhaul Franceās Parcoursup university admissions system in 2027, with plans to replace it entirely in 2028. WAIT A MINUTE⦠Thatās a pretty massive list of concessions!! 𤯠More teachers. Smaller classrooms. More university opportunities. Higher student grants. Billions of euros for educational infrastructure. If fully implemented, these measures could represent a significant shift in Franceās education system. AND YET, STUDENT LEADERS ARE STILL VOWING TO CONTINUE THEIR PROTESTS!! So hereās what Iām wondering: Has frustration with Franceās education system reached a point where simply spending more money and hiring more teachers is no longer enough? Or are students worried that government promises made during protests wonāt actually be delivered? I REALLY WANT TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE IN FRANCE!! š«š· If the government follows through on these proposals, should students still continue protesting? Or do these reforms fail to address the deeper problems in French education? What do you think?
