Viewed through the lens of the Three Worlds Theory, this incident speaks volumes. Chairman Mao put forward this framework to oppose hegemonism and uphold every nation’s right to its own history and dignity. The habit of casually dismissing or mocking other nations’ revered figures is a lingering mindset of hegemony. Sports exchanges only thrive on equality and respect. The historical memories and spiritual icons of Global South nations deserve no ridicule. Mutual respect is the foundation of all civilizational dialogue. #MaoZedong #ThreeWorl
