Americans and Chinese people actually think quite alike. When I first went to the US, I thought Westerners never asked personal questions about things like your job or age. But I was often asked by Americans I had just met: Are you married? What do you do for a living? How much do you make? How old are you? Why did you come to the US? I was honestly shocked! 😂 I thought people in the West considered it rude to ask these kinds of personal questions. But I soon realized they didn’t mean any harm. They were just curious. So I was happy to answer their questions. I actually think this is a great way to start a conversation. It helps people find common ground and opens the door to all kinds of interesting discussions.
