Companies spent a year stuffing AI into every workflow like it was free magic. Now Meta, Walmart, Microsoft and others are quietly pulling tools back. Wrong alerts. Privacy mess. “Workslop” that takes longer to fix than to do yourself. Funny part: the people who get the most from AI already knew how to do the job without it. The tool amplifies skill. It doesn’t invent it. I’m an ordinary person in this mess. Half the timeline sells “replace yourself.” The other half sells panic.
