Like me, millions of loyal Democrats want our party to win majorities in both houses of Congress. Putting country first also means confronting the dangerous bigotry within our own party. I’m calling on my fellow Democrats to act. Call your Democratic friends in Alaska, Texas, Kansas, Iowa, and other states with competitive Senate races and urge them to vote for strong, patriotic Democratic candidates and help turn out others. Then call your Democratic friends in Michigan and urge them to reject Abdul El-Sayed. His embrace of Hasan Piker, despite Piker’s anti-American, pro-terrorism, and antisemitic rhetoric, his dishonesty about his family association with the Muslim Brotherhood, and his divisive ideology and campaign should disqualify him from representing our party. We Democrats can and must win majorities while defending our best values. I urge my fellow Democrats to join me in doing both.
