Dear Greek friends, 🇬🇷 After the Turkic conquest of Anatolia, many Greek-speaking Romans gradually adopted the Turkish language, Islam, and eventually a Turkish identity. Their descendants did not necessarily disappear. Their identity changed. When you look at modern Türkiye, do you still see traces of those Anatolian Romans? Do you consider them part of Greek history, even if their descendants no longer identify as Greek? Or do you see them as a people who became part of another nation? I'm curious how Greeks think about this part of their history. #Greece #GreekHistory #Türkiye #ByzantineEmpire
