Let me first explain how Khomeini is portrayed in the Chinese media. From what I've seen in Chinese news coverage, Khomeini is presented as an extremely influential and respected figure in the Islamic world. I've even seen reports suggesting that Turkish people hold him in very high regard. The impression I get from Chinese media is that Khomeini is almost treated like a living prophet in the Islamic world — an incredibly prestigious and widely respected religious figure. But I want to know whether this is actually true. Is Khomeini genuinely that highly respected among Muslims, especially in Turkey?
