Dear Judge, I respectfully request that you dismiss or reduce this bus lane violation fine. I am a new immigrant to the United States and I was not fully familiar with the bus lane regulations in New York City. My previous violations occurred in August 2026, but I did not receive the notices until late October. This delay prevented me from realizing my mistake and correcting my driving behavior in time. During this period, I may have received several additional violations without knowing it. I am also very worried that more violation notices may arrive in the future. The increasing fines are creating a serious financial burden for me. If I had received the first notice earlier, I would have immediately corrected my mistake and avoided further violations. I sincerely apologize and promise to follow all traffic regulations carefully in the future. Considering the long delay in notification and my circumstances as a new immigrant, I respectfully ask you to dismiss this violation or reduce the fine as much as legally possible.
