DHS ended automatic EAD renewals. Renewals filed on or after Oct. 30, 2025 get no grace period once the card expires; DHS estimates 20,000 to 33,000 permits will lapse in 18 months, including pending-asylum (c)(8). File early, do not wait for the card to expire.
