I’ve been digging through the CIA's FOIA reading room for years, and 99% of it is boring procurement forms. But last week, I stumbled into a folder labeled "Mars Exploration, 1984". It wasn't about rovers. It was about a psychic. The file is a 9-page transcript from a secret project called the Gateway Process. The CIA hired a guy, gave him a pair of coordinates on a map, and told him to "remote view" the planet Mars, one million years BC. The intelligence officer sits across from him and starts recording. The guy closes his eyes. A minute goes by. Then he starts talking. He describes a giant pyramid in a crater. He describes huge, towering figures in strange, tight-fitting suits. The agent asks, "What’s happening?" The psychic says: "They are dying. The environment is collapsing. A massive storm is coming, and they are trying to get underground." He then describes seeing a reflective object, a metallic structure in the valley, and a civilization literally fleeing their own dying planet. At this point, I thought it was just Cold War lunacy. But then the agent asks him to move forward in time to look for "us" (humanity). The psychic pauses. He says, "I see a different landscape. Same place, but totally different. No storms. Just a wasteland." The CIA officer asks if there are any structures left. The psychic replies: "Yes. But nobody is there to use them." Why did the CIA spend millions of taxpayer dollars testing if human consciousness could travel through time and space? And why did they lock this specific transcript in a vault for 40 years? If it was just a hallucination, why hide it?
