Japanese in my comments always love to use “Western countries were also invading China” as an excuse whenever they defend their invasions and massacres. It’s so weird. Why do they think this defends them at all? The most ridiculous part is that after I actually went and read what those people think, I realized they feel this way because they believe Japan was the only Asian country that could invade and rob China together with the Western powers, and that this was “proving Asians could compete with the west.” Somehow they think it’s glorious and rightful and inspiring. They really think like this, and they even think since Chinese people are Asians too so they should all recognize and approve of it together. It’s so fucked up.
